Participants will identify their communication strengths that build self-esteem and confidence, as well as barriers to effective communication. They will practice core communication skills – Active Listening, Seeking Information, Giving Information, Confirming Understanding – and learn to apply the skills within a 5-step communications model that applies to most interactions.
Understanding and Adapting Your Natural Communication Style
In this workshop, assess your communication style and learn how to recognize communication patterns used by others. Practice varying your style to build trust, be more assertive, show you understand, and be perceived as a great communicator.
Communicating in a Digital Workplace
Email has grown to be the preferred form of business communication, but most organizations have not invested in training employees how to use it most effectively. The speed and interactivity of email creates both opportunities and hazards, and in some organizations it is the source of communication misery. In this experiential workshop, apply the new rules of e-tiquette and practice stronger email communications.
Improving Business Communications
This workshop focuses on improving the basic clarity of your written communications. We assess current skills and practice techniques to enhance communication. A follow-up assignment is evaluated by the instructor.
Speaking in front of others has been identified as a common human fear. Whether meeting one-on-one with a client or speaking to a large group, proper preparation and practice help us overcome our fears. Our small group setting gives participants an opportunity to receive feedback from the instructor as they structure and deliver a brief presentation.
Resolving Conflict in the Workplace
In this workshop, we explore various modes of conflict resolution, and learn how to use and when to use them. Incorporates TKI self-assessment (Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Indicator). Addresses how to handle anger and criticism, negotiating win-win resolutions.
